Mosscrag was built in 1918. It has been a private home as well as providing bed and breakfast for many years. Now a family run guest house based in beautiful Glenridding in the heart of the English Lake District, Mosscrag makes an ideal base for exploring the Lakes.
Three hundred yards away is Lake Ullswater, where you can fish, sail, canoe or windsurf or sail to Howtown and walk the seven miles back to Glenridding which is supposed to be the best lake walk in the district; or sail to Pooley Bridge, have lunch and sail back on a later boat. The whole area is ideal for the enthusiastic walker, as the poets Wordsworth and Coleridge discovered, and we are well positioned for those who want to do the coast to coast walk.
